Graveside services for Joe BISHOP SR., 88, of Keota were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Liberty Cemetery near Muldrow, with the Rev. Steve Gray officiating. Mr. BISHOP was born April 12, 1910, to Joe and Sarah Ann (JONES) BISHOP. He died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, in a Stigler hospital. He married Marie ROBISON Aug. 12, 1940, in Eufaula. She died in 1993. Survivors include four daughters, Pauly, Helen, Faye and Betty; five sons, Junior, Jessie, Charles, Johnny and Robby; one sister, Leva; 23 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Mr. BISHOP was also preceded in death by three sons, Jackie Ray BISHOP, Joe Edward BISHOP and Jimmy Don BISHOP, and one daughter, Wanda Jean BISHOP. Arrangements are under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home in Stigler.
