Winnifred Henry was married three times. First to George Washington Carver in 1851, 2nd to Rev. John Wood in 1901 and 3rd to Eli Stapp Henry in 1911. Each of these men were Civil War Veterans and she applied for and collected on each of their pensions. Her marriage to Rev. wood was recorded in the St, Francois Co., Mo. Marriage book volume 8, 1901-1903, page 24. They were married by S. P. Montgomery, Minister of the Gospel in Doe Run. Her marriage to Eli Henry was performed by J. M. Baugh, Minister of the Gospel in the presence of witnesses, Mr. & Mrs. Walter Thomure.

Her mother was Nancy Jane Renfro born Nov., 1809 in Barron Co., Ky. Her father was John Walter Watson.
