She was born August 24, 1911 in Salem, Idaho to Allen Thomas and Minnie Louize Ward Pugmire.
Gen married William O. "Bill" Winther on September 3rd, 1929 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Bill died in 1981, leaving her a widow for 27 years.
Gen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Gen worked cleaning houses, making shirts at Carlisle's, making drapes for Fadel's, Lyngle Brothers, Finesse, Inc. and she also worked at Sorensen Research. She quilted and crocheted and willingly shared her talents with all she encountered. She made large numbers of doilies, quilts, afghans, and pot holders and gave them to family and friends.
She is survived by her son Thomas William Winther (Colleen), with whom she resided, and daughter Shauna Marie Stark-weather (William), six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grand-children. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Karen Madge Winther; son Floyd Wayne Winther; daughter-in-law Joyce Chipman Winther; and seven sisters and two brothers.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary located at 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East) in East Millcreek. A viewing will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary on Thursday evening, April 23, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday one hour before the services.
Interment will be at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
