Ex-Dalles Resident Dies in Portland

Bert E. Conklin, 71, former resident of The Dalles, died at his home in Portland yesterday following a prolonged illness.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Grace Sanders, of The Dalles. also surviving are three nieces and six nephews.
Mr. Conklin, a retired farmer, moved to Portland three years ago.
Funeral services will be held from the C.R. Callaway and Son chapel at 1 p.m. Monday. the Rev. E. Ernest Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery.
