AGNES DIVER WILLIAMS

SAN ANGELO - Agnes Diver Williams peacefully passed away Friday morning in Park Plaza Nursing Center with family at her side. Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at the Lake View United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Rowena Cemetery in Rowena, Texas.

She was born on Jan. 22, 1910, to George and Molly Diver in Milam County, Texas. She married Berry H. Williams on Jan. 21, 1929. Berry preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1961. They had 34 wonderful years together and bore 4 children. Their firstborn son, Herman Wayne Williams, died at 5 years of age.

Agnes wore many 'hats' in her long lifetime. Besides her main roles of wife, mother and Momy, she was very active in her church and the community. She could work circles around most people, old and young, and was always busy. She loved to dance and went every chance she got. She just loved to have fun and could fit in with all ages, although she liked the younger crowd best. She loved to work outside with her flowers, pulling weeds, and when she got bored she would say, "I need to go chop some cotton."

She was a cafeteria supervisor in the Lake View School System for many years. She loved being around the kids and was always pulling jokes on her fellow employees.

She was an excellent seamstress and could make anything without a pattern just by looking at it. She worked at Sir's Men's Wear doing alterations on men's clothing. After that, she worked as a hostess at the Ramada Inn Restaurant until her retirement in 1975. Being around people made her the happiest.

She is survived by three children, Sue and Ernest Ethington, Dorothy Eaton, and Russell and Brenda Williams, all of San Angelo; eight grandchildren, Greg and Becky Ethington of Sterling City, Drew and Malissa Ethington of Lindsay, Terri and Van Eisenbach of Corpus Christi, Renee' Eaton of San Antonio, Brandee and Martin McNutt of Rockport, Traci Young of San Angelo, Darin Highsmith of San Angelo and Sheila Foley of Grape Creek; sixteen great-grandchildren, Ashley Nelson, Austin Ethington, Hilary Ethington, Alyx Ethington, Mason Eisenbach, Bret Eisenbach, Dixie Hanley, and Derrick Hanley, LeeVi Hallmark, Sheyanne and Shane Mikeska, Jason Peterson, Mandi Foley, Amber McCall, Tanner Long, and Tyler Young; and one great-great-grandchild, Haylee Paige Nelson. Pallbearers will be Martin Diver, Bobby Diver, Patrick Diver, Denson Diver, Doug Diver and Don Schroeder, all nephews of Aunt Aggie's.

Special thanks go to Hospice of San Angelo, the devoted staff of Park Plaza North and Dr. Viki Forlano for all their loving care and affection they gave our Mother.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21.
