The Current Local, Van Buren, Missouri April 23, 2009: Millie Roena Tyler, daughter of the late Clarence T. and Mary Elizabeth (Boyer) Kirkpatrick-Batton, was born on Oct. 2, 1919 in Malvern, Ark., and departed this life Apr. 15, 2009, in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She attained the age of 89 years, six months and 13 days. Mrs. Tyler was a longtime resident of Ellsinore and Williamsville, Mo., and was a cook for the Van Buren Nutrition Center. She was a member of the Hendrickson Chapel in Williamsville and loved to visit with friends. Survivors include one brother, Clarence Kirkpatrick of Belnor; two grandchildren Linnette Nelson and her husband, Raymond and David Weaks and his wife, Velma, all of Williamsville; four great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends who mourn her passing. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Weaks, and two brothers, David Kirkpatrick and Murphy Kirkpatrick. The funeral was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Apr. 19, 2009 in the Hendrickson Chapel in Williamsville, Mo., with Rev. Raymond Nelson officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery, west of Ellsinore. McSpadden Funeral Home in Van Buren is in charge of arrangements.
