married: Martha Alice Ritter, 31 Jul 1881, Benton, Arkansas.
PIONEER CITIZEN DIED EARLY SATURDAY MORNING
C. D. Idlett, aged 80 years, died Saturday morning at 6 o'clock, and funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the family home, conducted by Rev. W. O. Patterson, pastor of the First Baptist church, assisted by Rev. J. W. Whitefield, pastor of the First Methodist church. Interment was made in Grange Hall cemetery.
Mr. Idlett was a native of Tennessee, and was married to Miss Alice Ritter, who was born and reared in Arkansas. They had lived in and near Blooming Grove half a century.
In the death of C. D. Idlett the town and community lost one of its best citizens. He had been a member of the Baptist church for many years and was a man of unquestioned honesty and integrity. The beautiful floral offerings and the large number of people who attended the funeral were silent testimonials of the love and esteem in which "Uncle Dave" was held.
Surviving him are his wife, two sons, J. S. Idlett, of Byrd; G. W. Idlett, of Snyder, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. L. K. Gerron, of Bardwell; Mrs. Clint McMurray, of Dallas, and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jim and Ed Glenn, Loyd Simpson, Drew Gillen, Leo Price and John Dorsey George.
McCormick Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
