Sally was born in chickilah, Arkansas and moved with her husband, Avery, to Okla. in 1903. Sally lived in Washington for over 50 years and attended the Washington Baptist Church. She worked several years for the Washington School system, in the cafeteria, before retiring in the early 1950s. Sally made sure every child had more than enough food on their plate, as the line of students passed her. In 1981, Sally was 97 years young and residing in the Purcell Nursing Home.
