Son of Richard & Rebecca (Martin) Stoops; siblings - Catherine, John, George, Amanda and Alvah. Married Mary Elizabeth Peabody on 5 February 1862 in Wabash Co, Indiana; they were the parents of Jennie V. (Mrs. Eli) Frantz, Permelia A. (Mrs. John Frank) Ellison, Elbert Wade and Bertha A. Stoops.

Died at age 49 years, 4 months, 24 days.

OBITUARY - The Journal, North Manchester (IN) - February 20, 1890
Henry H. Stoops died at his home near Pleasant View Thursday, February 13, aged 48 years. He had heen in bad health for some time before taking the LaGrippe. It was followed by pneumonia which caused his death.

Deceased was a deacon in the Baptist Church for many years a kind husband, an indulgent father, a good neighbor liked by all. A wife and four children survive him. Funeral at noon Sunday. Rev. Taylor officiating, internment at Hopewell cemetery.
