IMOGENE (WILLIS) WINSLETT
Imogene (Willis) Winslett, age 71, of Hueytown, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2009 after a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, April 24, 2009 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Bessemer, Alabama with Rodney Van Dyke officiating. Visitation will be at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home, Bessemer, Alabama, Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Imogene was born July 15, 1937, at Manitou, Okla., to Charlie and Ruby Rhodes Willis. She attended Snyder schools, graduating in 1955. She married Howard Winslett. He died in 1999. She was an accomplished artist with many paintings and sketches, especially depicting things closest to her. She was a mother, homemaker, and a friend to all. She will be truly missed.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Jean Shands and husband Jim of Bessemer, Alabama; a son Robert Winslett and wife Misty, Bessemer, Alabama; two grandchildren: Alex Shands and Michael Winslett, Bessemer, Alabama, three sisters: Betty Heien and husband David, Marlow, Wanda Jackson, Roosevelt, Aletta Winslett and husband Charles, Arab, Alabama, a special twin brother, Eugene Willis and wife Joyce, Las Vegas, Nevada; and many loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Coletta Willis in February 2009.
