Edgar A. "Bud" Pilger, 92, of Eastwood, passed away Friday at his home. Bud was born on February 3, 1917 in Syracuse to the late Edgar L. and Elsie A. (Miller) Pilger. He was a graduate of Eastwood High School and was married on July 5, 1942 to Mary H. Jurecki. Bud was a pressman at Artcraft Press for 45 years, retiring in 1982. During World War II he served with the Army and was a member of American Legion Pulaski Post 1650. He was an avid fisherman and card player and for many years enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at Powder Horn Lodge in Redfield. His wife, Mary past away on August 1, 2008; brothers, Richard and Robert; sisters, Margaret, Elaine and Audrey also predecease him. Survivors include his son, Edward (Martha S.) of Hamler, Ohio; his daughter, Lorraine (Tim) Wilhelm of New Bavaria, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Robert, Bernadette, Martha Rose, Jacob, William, Kathleen, Veronica, Sarah Sue and Isaac; four great-grandchildren, Sydney, Nolan, Wiley and Ralph and several nieces and nephews, including Virginia (Bob) Colvin and Mary Ann (John) Woods. Calling hours will be Friday 4 to 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. Services will be Saturday 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Entombment with Military Honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
