The funeral of Clara Cresswell, 81, is being held Wednesday at the Bender Funeral home with burial here. Mrs Cresswell lived near Lenox until 1945, when her husband, Byron, died and she moved to Creston. She died Sunday.
She was the daughter of John Madden. Her last living relative in Lenox was a sister-in-law, Mrs. Edna Madden.

Clara Madden Cresswell, the daughter of John and Leanora Bliss Madden, was born in Lenox, la., Sept 6, 1880 and passed away at the Cochran Nursing Home in Creston July 30, 1961 at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 24 days.
On July 18, 1900 she was united in marriage to Byron C Cresswell at the home of her parents. To this union was born a daughter who died in infancy.
She was the last member of her immediate family being preceded in death by her husband, daughter, parents, two brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by nieces, nephews and a number of cousins in addition to loving friends.
She lived in the Lenox vicinity until after the death of her husband in 1945. Since that time she has made her home in Creston.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug 2, 1961 at the Bender Funeral Home in Lenox. The Rev A J Clements was in charge. Burial was in Fairview cemetery.
