Roberta G. Callahan, age 91 of Joplin, Mo. passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Webb City Health and Rehab following an illness. Roberta was born May 15, 1917 in McDonald County, Mo. to Grant & Maude D. (Wooldridge) Mathis. She was a lifetime resident of Newton County.
Roberta worked as a sales clerk for Macy's Department Store. And was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She loved cardinals and flowers.

Roberta was married to Don Callahan, he preceded her in death in December, 1990. Survivors include two nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by one brother, Glen Mathis.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2009 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel. Rev. Johnny Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in Osborne Memorial Cemetery

Roberta was one of my hair clients that I did her hair for several years. She had the thickest hair and not a gray in it. Always in good spirits.
