Annie Neill (Nancy) Crismond, 82, of Blacksburg, Va., died at Montgomery Regional Hospital on April 20, 2009. She was born in Newell, N.C., on May 8, 1926, the daughter of the late William Edward and Rachel Newell Neill. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Crismond; son, Joseph M. Crismond; and two sisters, Rachel N. Dunlap and Peggy N. Crismond. Nancy was an active member of Blacksburg United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She served many years as a volunteer at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was a 50 year member of Ingles Chapter #96 Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron, longtime secretary and chapter historian. Nancy held various offices and served various appointments of the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Virginia including Worthy Grand Matron in 1979 to 1980. She is survived by her son, Charles W. Crismond; granddaughter, Melanie Crismond; two greatgrandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lois Crismond; sister, Emma N. Harper, of Rock Hill, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2009, in the Blacksburg United Methodist Church with Dr. Reginald Tuck officiating. Burial will be private at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
