Mrs. Sarah A. Cox Dies Last Monday
Good and Estimable Lady Passes Away

Mrs. Sarah Ann Elizabeth Cox was found dead yesterday morning (June 3, 1912) at her home on Greene street in this city. Her death was supposed to have been due to old age and heart failure.
She lived with her daughter and in adjoining houses to her son, Mr. Albert J. Cox. Mrs. Cox had been an invalid for about 35 years, and not being able to go out and having to keep close to the house, she was, however, in her usual good health up to the time of her death.

She was born in Walton County, Ga., 79 years ago. She was the widow of Mr. W.M. Cox, who died about thirteen years ago and was one of Bartow's most prominent farmers. She was married to Mr. Cox Nov. 21st, 1851. She had been living in Bartow county since the 17th day of 1885. After she and her husband first married she lived most of the time in Gwinnett County near Lawrenceville. She was a member of the Baptist church and had been since she was sixteen years old. She was a good pious consecrated Christian woman and was well loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by eight sons and three daughters: W.G. Cox of Pocahontas, Arkansas; Mrs. K.C. Adkinson, of near Cartersville; R.M. Cox, of Cass Station; Miss Emma O. Cox, of this city; Mrs. Gertrude Fowler, of Cartersville; Mr. A.J. Cox, of Cartersville; Mr. C.S. Cox, of Cass Station and E.H. Cox of the State Sanitarium. One daughter, Mrs. Mary B. Brandon, wife of W.A. Brandon, died twelve years ago, and Ada Cox died when she was eighteen months old.

The funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock at the Cassville Baptist church, Rev. J.M. Long officiating and interment will be held in Cassville cemetery. (end)

SARAH ANN ELIZABETH MILLER was the 4th child born to Goodwin and Sarah Glasson Miller in Mar 1838 in Georgia. Sarah married WILLIAM MARION COX in 1854 in Georgia. Mrs. Sarah Cox, has a CSA widow's pension application on line in the virtual vault. She was married to W.M. Cox who died in Bartow County, GA in Feb. 1899. He enlisted in Feb 1863 and served in Company A of the 2nd GA State Troops.
