A celebration of life for Becky Sue Cambern will be at noon Thursday at O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, Wis.

Becky Cambern, 59, of Hudson, died Monday (April 20, 2009) at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis, following a very recent cancer diagnosis.

She was born Jan. 1, 1950, in Albert Lea, to Russell and Bessie (Johnson) Steinhauer. She graduated from high school in Albert Lea and went on to earn a nursing degree from the Rochester School of Nursing. On Aug. 29, 1970, she married Jay Cambern.

She worked as an LPN at Christian Community Home in Hudson; American Heritage in Hammond, Wis.; and Good Samaritan in Stillwater, Minn. She was a compassionate woman who loved her family and being with people.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jason (Kari) of Rochester and Travis of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Brittany, Bryce and Jack; a sister, Judy (Earl) Dibble of Springfield, Md., and best friend, Nancy (Bob) Fischer. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may gather from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home in Hudson.

Memorials are preferred.
