DENT, Naomi Goodwin, (Nanny), 85, of Salem, died Wednesday, September 5, 2001 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert M. and Drucilla K. Goodwin; husband, Robert K. Dent; and nine siblings. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald K. and Marie Dent; grandson and wife, Robert K., II (Robin) and Marcia Dent; great-grandchildren, Donald Kirk Dent, II and Maggie L. Dent; stepgreat-grandchildren, Emily T. Bryant and Gregory M. Bryant; her twin sister, Ruth G. Gresham. Naomi was born in Olaf, Va. and lived most of her life in Salem. She retired after 35 years of service at Peacock-Salem Launderers & Cleaners and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. "Nanny" was loved by all her family and friends. A special thanks to the caregivers on 3 West at Richfield Nursing Center. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2001 at Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Stuart Carlton and Dr. Tom Cribb officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem.
