SUMMERDALE, Ala.—Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 28, for Samuel Ard Jr., 65, of Summerdale who died Jan. 25.
Services were held from the Summerdale Baptist Church with Rev. Richard P. Reedy officiating. Burial was in Hail Memorial Cemetery with Mack Funeral Home of Robertsdale Directing.
Ard, a native of Baldwin County, was in the oil business and owner of Ard Oil Co. of Summerdale.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Ard, Summerdale; three daughters, Sharon Russell, Fairhope, Ala.; Erline Phillips, Evergreen, Ala., and Joyce Brewer, Andalusia, Ala.; mother, Maggie Ard, Pensacola, Fla.; six sisters, Dotsie Buettner, Loxley, Ala.; Allie Mae Norris, Sacramento, Calif.; Maggie Lennicx, Fairhope, Ala.; Storma Kircharr, Corrine Ried and Lucille Van Pelt, all of Pensacola, Fla.; one brother, Walter Ard, Slagle, La.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
