Born in Onondaga County New York in 1810. Married James L. Beebee on January
12, 1831. They moved to Cayuga, NY in 1858 and resided there until moving to
Harrison County, Iowa in 1871. The area was very rural and five of their six
sons began farming around the homestead. This was the beginning of the
settlement of Beebeetown, Iowa and a Post Office was eventually established with
that name. James and Alma had six sons and one daughter.
