Funeral services for Mr. Shelby Adams of Steele were held Tuesday, February 21, 1984 at 2:00 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti. The Rev. Glenn Johnson of Holland officiated.
Mr. Adams was born August 16, 1896 in Black Oak, Ark., and died at his home on February 19, 1984. He was 87.
He was a retired farmer, veteran of World War I, and a member of the Baptist Church at Braggadocio.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Beulah Adams of the home; two sons: Clifford Adams, of West Memphis and Bob Adams, of Maryland Heights, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Ada Frakes, of Maryland Heights; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Danny Bradsher, Gary Adams, Chris Adams, Marvin Waldrop, Paul Wilcox, and Harold Young.
Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens near Caruthersville, with John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti in charge.
The military flag folding ceremony was conducted by Capt. Steve Shelly and Sgt. Charlie Jones with the Missouri National Guard Unit 1137th Military
