Deceased Name: Obituary: Elva Leone Bingham Petersen Devoted wife, loving and encouraging mother and grandmother, faithful servant of Heavenly Father, Elva Leone Bingham Petersen passed peacefully from this life on April 21, 2000.

Mother was born November 1, 1903, in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Moss and Ella Butler Bingham.

On August 29, 1923, when she was 19 years of age, she married Royes John Petersen. They raised a family of seven children, three sons and four daughters.

Elva loved music, the arts, literature, her family and her religion.

She held numerous positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the Relief Society, Primary and Mutual organizations.

She was a full partner with her husband in their business, constructing homes in Brigham City, Tremonton, Ogden, Murray and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Elva handled the books and decorating while Royes did the actual building.

Mother was preceded in death by Dad; one son, Boyd Alan; her mother and father; sisters, Blanche Sheffield, Barbara Gudmundson, and Carma Anderson; brothers Cyril, Vernon, Grant, and their wives Nola and Fern.

She is survived by her sister, Doris Fotheringham. She is also survived by her children, Gae Cowley, Donna Pack (Merrill) Colleen Nuttall, Pat Prather (John), Royes Jr. (Gene), and Steven (Oneta).

Mother's family of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren number 167.

The family wants to express our admiration and appreciation to Mother's primary care giver and our angel, her granddaughter, Linda Brooks.

Linda's undying devotion to Mother was exemplary always. We also thank Linda's children and Utah County Hospice for their kind support.

Friends and family will gather for the viewing at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2000 in the Canyon View 7th Ward, 1090 N. 400 E., Orem, UT under the direction of the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Brigham City Cemetery.
