Melba Doris Lewis Mathis Smith- 96 of Lakeland, Georgia passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the Lakeland Convalescent Villa after a brief illness. She was born on March 27, 1927 in Berrien County, GA to the late William Marshall Lewis and Versie Lee Warren Lewis. Ms. Melba was a homemaker, loved cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved to go clothes shopping. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband, Curtis Mathis, 2 sons, Donnie Ray Mathis & Charles Mathis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday August 14, 2023, in the Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Berrien County with burial following in the church cemetery.
