Mr. Hoffman was born in Saxony, Germany, in 1826 and came to this country 43 years ago. One son and four daughters comprise the surviving members of the family. The deceased was an active member of the German Lutheran church, and was an upright and honorable citizen. He was industrious and law abiding, and enjoyed the respect and confidence of the community.
