Funeral services for Mrs. R. D. Skains, 40 years of age, who died at her home here Wednesday night, August 26, 1936, at 9:10 o'clock, were held at the First Presbyterian Church Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. Alwin Stokes in charge. Burial followed in the Gorhamtown Cemetery.
Mrs. Skains before her marriage was Jo Anne Wilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mat Wilson, now deceased. She was born in Caldwell Parish October 16, 1895, and was reared in Winn Parish. Mrs. Skains was a member of the Winnfield Presbyterian Church and took an active plart in the church and Presbyterian Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter born last Friday. Surviving are her husband, R. D. Skains; three sons, James Roy, O. B., and R. D. Jr.; and one daughter, Nettie Mae; and four sisters, Mrs. Mae Blackman of Houston, Texas; Mrs. L. C. Carpenter, Mrs. W. R. Berry, and Mrs. L. D. Skains of Winnfield.
