Doris LaVerne Merello, nee Ochterbeck, 79, Valley Park, formerly of St. Clair, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, in Valley Park.
Mrs. Merello was born Dec. 14, 1927, in St. Louis, the daughter of Arthur Ochterbeck and wife Beulah, nee Glenn.
On May 29, 1948, she was united in marriage to George Thomas Merello.
Mrs. Merello was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Luebbering.
She was employed at Southwestern Bell and retired after 30 years.
Mrs. Merello was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas Merello and wife Brenda, Ironton, Gary Merello and wife Laura, St. Charles, and Dennis Merello and wife Mary, St. Louis; three daughters, Judith Lewis and husband Arthur, St. Charles, Sandra Hausman and husband Timothy, St. Louis, and Penny Tredway and husband William, St. Peters; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Joseph Merello and wife Agnes, Keithville, La.; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
A funeral Mass was held Friday, Dec. 14, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Luebbering. Father John McEntee officiated.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Masses or memorials to donor's choice are preferred.
The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
