Leo J. Cramer, 76, a former Chester resident, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 1972 in Denver, Colo., after a short illness. He was born in Hardy, Nebr., October 7, 1895.

Mr. Cramer was a graduate of Chester High School, Class of 1915, and the University of Nebraska. He formerly was the State Chemist in Lincoln, and retired in 1960 after more than 30 years service with the Federal Food and Drug Administration. He was more recently employed as a Food Inspector for the Huge Company, St. Louis, Mo. He had resided in Denver since 1957.

In 1971 he was presented with his 50-year membership pin by Chester Masonic Lodge No. 298. He served in the United States Marines during World War I.

Mr. Cramer is survived by his wife, Nelle, Denver; three children, Robert L., Ottowa, Canada; Marilyn I. Sanders, Colorado Spgs., Colo.; Kathleen J. Updike, Simi Valley, Calif.; four brothers, Geo. H., San Luis Obispo,Calif.; Donald A., Mesa, Ariz.; Gail, San Diego, Calif.; Harold D., Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Hazel Johnston, Medford, Oregon; also eight grandchildren.

Interment was in the Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colo.
