The daughter of Benjamin Hooker and Martha Clemmons, Christina was born in Laclede County, Missouri. She married first Daniel Webster Hardy about 1860 then Wilbert Ashley Hawkins, the widow of her sister Martha Hooker, on 17 December 1866. The family moved to Hall County, Georgia, in 1874. Wilbert, who died on 15 July 1874, is thought to be buried in Gainsville, Hall County, GA.

Her children were: Charles Daniel Hardy and Martha Elizabeth "Betty" Hardy Nunn, Naoma or "Oma" Hawkins Norvill, Emma Hawkins Braselton, Herbert Samuel Hawkins, and Wilbert Ellen Hawkins Shanks.
