Aged 78, the son of Roy & Florence Eaves. Mr. Eaves was a 20 year Navy veteran. Amongst other ships, Vernon served on the USS Kiowa, USS Windlass and the USS Suffolk County. He received
the following commendations & Medals: Four Naval National Defense Service Medals, 1952 Commanding Oficer for Untiring efforts, assistance, and devotion to duty during operations, 1955 Gold Conduct Medal for outstanding leadership and professional ability in maintaining high state of readiness.
Following his Navy retirement he and his son started the Eaves Lock & Security Company.
