Margie Emeline Pierce passed away on April 17, 2009 at North Canyon Care Center in Bountiful.


She was born November 6, 1924 to Joseph Wells Sweat and Elsie May Mecham.


In 1946, she married Dan Pierce and together they raised four children. Dan passed away on August 1, 1998.


Margie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served many years as a primary teacher and served a mission to the Ogden Cannery.


She worked as a seamstress and inspector at Days enterprises in Clearfield and later as a preschool teacher at College for Tots. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and camping.


She is survived by her children Ronald Pierce (West Bountiful), Diane (Gary) Purington (Pocatello, ID) Karen (Clair) Hamblin (West Point), Shauna (Randy) Nye (Clinton); 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Dan Pierce, one infant child, daughter in law Betty, two granddaughters, seven brothers, two sisters and two infant siblings.


Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary 727 North 400 East, where friends may call from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to the services.
Interment: Lakeview Memorial Estates Cemetery.
