Longtime resident Frank Hardin services held

Funeral services for James Franklin (Frank) Hardin, age 85, a resident of Donley County since 1907, were held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1978, in Robertson Chapel of Memories with Rev. Owen McGarity, minister of the First United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Masonic graveside services and interment was in Citizens Cemetery with the arrangements under the direction of Robertson Funereal Directors.

Mr. Hardin died at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 8, 1978 in Medical center Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 3, 1893 at Maypearl, Ellis County, Texas and came to Donley County from Collin County. He married Marie Cordor and four children were born before her death in May of 1923. He then married Susan Laverne Turner on June 15, 1925 at Wellington, Texas.

Mr. Hardin was a retired farmer, was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Past Master and 50 year member of the Clarendon Masonic Lodge, and Past Patron of the Eastern Star; a 50 year member of both the Clarendon Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and Clarendon Council of Royal and Select Masters.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Susan Hardin; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Gladys) Blackburn, of Clarendon; Mrs. J.T. (Beatrice) Sykes of Amarillo; a son, Warren Hardin of Ashtola; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Speed of Colorado City, Texas, Mrs. Ella Simmons of Clarendon, Mrs. Mamie Cannon of Bula, Texas; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Casket bearers were Will Chamberlain, Lloyd Risley, Maurice Risley, Thad Rodgers, Paul Bell, and Horace Green.

Members of the Masonic Lodge were honorary bearers.
