Born March 26, 1951 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Raymond and Gretchen (Hatfield) Carlton, both deceased. He married Debra L. Moore June 25, 1971; she survives.
Mr. Carlton lived his early life in Shelby County and has resided in Rushville since 1971. He worked at TRANE for 33 years and attended Rushville Church of Christ. He was a 1969 graduate of Morristown High School.
Survivors in addition to his wife include son, Mike (Heather) Carlton of Greenfield; daughter, Jennifer (Colby) Walls of Rushville; brothers, Donnie (Jeri) of Kentucky, Gary (Elaine) of Greenfield, Bill and Raymond Jr., both of Gwynneville, and Tom (Diane) of Rushville; granddaugters, Kaitlynn and Megan Walls, both of Rushville; and sister-in-law, Sheila Carlton of Kentucky.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Michael.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Jerry Holdman officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
