Wanda Brackett, 76, a longtime resident of Wenatchee, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998 at her home.
She was born to James Harlan and Mary V. (Griggs) Livingston at Chelan, on Feb. 19, 1922. Wanda was raised and educated at Wenatchee and in 1941 married Delbert Brackett in Idaho. In 1949 the couple moved to Omak to raise their family. Wanda's husband Delbert died in 1985 and in 1988 Wanda moved back to Wenatchee.
Wanda had an amazing talent for gardening and a green thumb, especially when it came to growing flowers. She could nurse almost any ailing plant back to health. She also loved to watch the birds that fluttered about in her garden.
Wanda is survived by her daughters Pat Burkhardt and Dianna Walton both of Spokane. Brothers Oliver E. Livingston of Turlock, CA., James D. Livingston of Wenatchee and Allen G. Livingston of Ocean Shores. Sisters Joan Petersen of Mount Vernon and Lois Harris of Wenatchee. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert in 1985, one sister, one brother, her parents and a daughter.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998 at 1 p.m. at Jones and Jones Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Jones and Jones Funeral Chapel in Wenatchee. For those friends that wish to make a memorial contribution, memorials may be made to the Alpine Boys Ranch Scholarship Fund at 19537 Chiwawa Loop Rd. Leavenworth, WA 98826.
