She was the daughter of Fleming Jordan and Julia Janette Sadler. She and her husband Ira McMillion had two children that died young, one of which was named "Jordan" in the 1880 census. The cemetery headstones next to Jennie reveal that the other child's name was Nettie.

MRS. JENNIE J. MCMILLAN
Died Yesterday Morning of Meningitis--Interment this Afternoon
Mrs. Jennie J. McMillan died yesterday morning of meningitis at the home of her father, Mr. Fleming Jordan, 726 North Twenty-first street. Mrs. McMillan's death was a painful surprise to the community. She had been sick but a short while. Her general health was excdellent and no one dreamed but that she would recover. She was in the prime of young womanhood, beautiful and accomplished. The funeral will take place from her father's residence at 3 o'clock this afternoon. Interment at Oak Hill, where her two little children already lie beneath the sod.
