Funeral services were held for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Luna, 83, who died Thursday night, November 2, 1972, in Muskogee General Hospital. Born November 3, 1888, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, Mrs. Luna came to Wagoner in 1924 from Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where they owned the Rialto Theatre.
The Luna's owned and operated the Cozy and Plaza theatres here in Wagoner for many years. Mrs. Luna was a member of Circle 1 of the First Presbyterian Church and also a member of the church.
Rev. J. Basil Ramsey, assisted by Rev. Paul Townsend of Sapulpa officiated at the 2 p.m. Saturday services held in Hersman Chapel. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, E. D. Luna, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Gilmore, Bixby; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Hicks, Tahlequah; one brother, Arthur Wilkey, Wagoner, and three grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were Reginald Gilmore, Joe Cobb, George Cunningham, Walter Sleeper, R. R. Platt and Marion Cunningham. Active pallbearers were V. M. Sprangel, John E. Johnson, Frank Brown, Bill Gilmore, Courtney Bennett and Andrew Cooper.
