Herman R. Boese of Iola died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, at Countryside Estates Nursing Center. He was 95.
He was born Jan. 9, 1902, at Alexander, the son of J. Henry and Katherine Dick Boese.
He worked for Huff Construction, LeHigh Cement Plant and the Pet Milk Company before retiring.
On May 14, 1922, he married Mary E. Taylor at Alexander. They lived in Rozel and Larned before moving to Iola in 1939. She died in 1977.
He is survived by a daughter, Wilma Nadine Reeder of Route 2, Iola; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A son. two daughters, six brothers, four sisters and two grandsons. Jim Reeder and Lonnie Stierwalt, died earlier.
Funeral services will be at the First Church of the Nazarene at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Duane Snavely will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Memorial Chapel.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the Nazarene church.
