Mr. Mead was born in Dansville and came to Mason where he was associated in business with his father G. G. Mead, who for many years ran a mill in Mason. Twenty four years ago, he and his wife left Mason for Denver, Colorado where he was employed by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad Company. His wife died a few days after him due to shock from hearing his death and also had pneumonia.
