"Tipton LaFayette Acuff, 86, 130 55th Ave NW, longtime Polk County farmer, died Wednesday in a Salem nursing home following a long illness.
A native of Nashville, Ten., he moved to the Salem area in 1903. He purchased a farm in the Eola area of Polk County and had raised fruit for more than 60 years.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Bewley, Salem; Mrs. Velma Bihl, Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Betty L. Wyatt, Falls Church, Va.; son H.M. Acuff, Salem; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
