THE DETROIT NEWS-HERALD, 2 Jul 1936 from microfilm in Clarksville Library: 'Deport -- Jim Westbrook, 82, died Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. L. Campbell, 2 miles north of Deport, where he lived. He was born in Cherokee County, November 11, 1853. Mr. Westbrook came to this section in 1868 and had lived here ever since, engaging in farming and as a ginner. The funeral was held at 4:30 Monday afternoon at the Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev. Chas. T. Tally, Jr. with interment at Highland Cemetery. He is survived by 2 sons; Tom and Sam Westbrook; his daughter, Mrs. Campbell; a sister, Mrs. J. B. Nixon and a brother, D. P. Westbrook, all of this community.' *Buried near Billy Mack Jordan and Mollie Ripley Griffin.
