My Uncle George never married. When I would visit Arkansas as a kid he was the one that gave all the kids rides in the back of his pick up and take us for goodies and cheeseburgers and the likes. He would take us boys out to dump and let us poke around to see what we could find. I have fond memories of this man.

OZARK — George Andrew Pool, 77, of Ozark died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Altus. He ran the saw at a stave mill and was a Protestant. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Nichols Chapel Cemetery in Altus. He is survived by three brothers, Junior and Willie Pool, both of Ozark, and J.C. Pool of Altus. Pallbearers will be Johnny and Don Pool, Richard Roland, Kenneth Ross, Willie McCormick and Danny Roburn. The family will visit with friends from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
