Obituary

At her home in this city on Saturday
afternoon, March 4. occurred the death
oi! Mrs. Alida Amsbaugh, wife of William
R. Amsbaugh, after an illness of
about a week, suffering from pneumonia.
Mrs. Auisbaugh was born June 16.
184S, at Madrid, St. Lawrence county,
New York. Sbe was married to Wiu.R.
Amsbaagh at Baldwin, Wis., August 3,
1872. They made their home at Brookville,
Wis., for thirteen years, and at
Wildwood, Wis., for seventeen years,
removing to Newport, Idabo, nine years
ago and have since made their home
here.
She was the mother of six children,
four sons and two daughters, all of whom are living. The daughters are Mrs.
Elmer Davie, of Kasota, Minn.; Mrs.
W.E. Patterson, of Stillwater, Minn.
The sons are F. A., of Coeur d'Alene; C.
A., of Whitefish, Mont.; C. 8 ,of Penrith,
and (). 0., of Coear d'Alene. All
of the children except Mrs. Patterson
were in attendance at the funeral. A
sister, Mrs. Walter Shackleton, of this
citv/and two brothers, A. E. and F. R.
Smith, of Spokane, were also here to
attend the last rites.
Funeral services were held at Hope
Congregational church Tuesday afteinoon,
March 7, Rev. F. E. Whitham
officiating. Interment in the I. 0. 0. F.
cemetery.
The large attendance at the funeral
services and the numerous beautiful
floral emblems attested the high regard
in which the deceased was held by
neighbors and friends. The sympathy
of the community is extended to the
sorrowing family, who mourn the departure
of a good woman, a beloved wife
and mother.
