Bernadine was born to the Rev. Oscar F. Jones and Cora Alzina McConnell Jones. She married George E. Roach on Dec. 4, 1942, in Inglewood, Calif. He died in July 2004.
She also was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul and Philip Jones.
Surviving are son, Steve; daughter, Kathy (James) Frost; grandchildren, Shannon Roach, Andrew Frost, Stephen Roach, Julie Godsill and Laura Morse; three great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
A graduate of MacMurray College and Bradley University, she taught 32 years, the last 25 at Woodruff High School.
