Carl Sherman WALDRON, 58, 1129 Jefferson street, died at 12:55 p.m. Friday at the Veterans hospital in Fort Wayne where he had been a patient since Feb. 21. He had been ill for 13 1/2 months. Born June 12, 1914, in Brimfield, Ind., to E. S. and Lenna B. ZIGLER WALDERON, he had lived here the past 24 years, coming here from Rome City. His marriage was April 23, 1949, in Athens to Margaret L. HOLLOWAY. He was employed by the distribution division of the Marshall County Beverage company. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army with service in the European theatre, a member of the American Legion, Elks, Moose and Eagles lodges of Rochester and the Trinity United Methodist church. Surviving are the wife; a daughter, Carla [WALDRON], at home; a step-son, Kenneth SPANGLE, Claypool; four grandchildren; a brother, Raymond [WALDRON], Brimfield; a sister, Miss Elva WALDRON, Brimfield; two nephews and one niece, Dennis, Mark and Nancy WALDRON, Brimfield. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. The Rev. Morris F. HOWELL will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. The family requests that memorials other than flowers be made to the American Cancer Society or the Fulton County Cancer Detection Center.
