Lonell Beeks, 52, of 103 Arlington St., died Sunday in Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 19, 1929, to J. Clifford and Gladys Beeks in The Dalles, Ore.
He was reared in Goldendale where he graduated from high school in 1947.
Mr. Beeks attended Abilene Christian College and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He married Shirley Whitus on April 15, 1954, in Abilene, Texas.
After their marriage, they moved to Yakima where they lived for 16 years.
They then lived in Texas for 10 years, returning to Yakima two years ago.
Mr. Beeks was an active member of the Church of Christ. He was also active in the PTA and the Democratic Party.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Beeks; a son, Kenneth Beeks of Yakima; a daughter, Mrs. Kathy Urnick of Houston, Texas; a brother, Ronald Beeks of Gillette, Wyo.; and three grandchildren.
