The death of Mrs. Martha Swaney, 81, resident of near Lincolnville for many years, occurred last evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Whitcraft. Mrs. Swaney had been ailing for a number of years and was confined to her bed for eight months.
Mrs. Swaney first married Martin Gray on March 6, 1869. He died in 1875. Her second marriage was to James Swaney on Feb. 20, 1879. He died in 1925.
Surviving are two children, Mrs. Ray (Mary) Whitcraft and Almon Swaney of Marion, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
