Body of Geo. Leet Recovered From White Salmon River
The body of George Leet, Bingen, was recovered from the White Salmon river Sunday morning about 10:00 a.m. The whereabouts of Leet had not been known since Sunday, June 10th, when he and two other men left Bingen for Glenwood to attend the rodeo.

According to authorities Leet left Bingen with a Mr. Tuttle and "Blackie" Jones for the rodeo by way of the Underwood road. While on this road the car, driven by Tuttle stalled and one of the men returned to Underwood for mechanical assistance. The other was reported to have laid down under some brush to take a nap, while Leet evidentally was walking around on the grade and apparently fell over the steep embankment into the river.

Officers, it was reported, were notified several days after Leet was missing and investigation started. After questioning Tuttle and Jones the officers went to where the car had stalled and found Leet's hat and other articles down the steep embankment. His body was later recovered in the River.
