Princeville--Funeral services for Wilbur Root, 87, formerly of Marshall County, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Bouton Memorial Home here.
The Rev. Dr. H. D. Finley of First United Presbyterian Church of Monmouth will officiate. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery near Chillicothe. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday at the memorial home.
Mr. Root died Tuesday in Washington, Iowa where he had been living. He had undergone surgery. He was born June 28, 1872, in Marshall County, a son of Cyrus and Mary Stowell Root. He married Minnie Smith in Marshall County in 1895. She died in 1956. He farmed in Marshall then managed an elevator at Speer before moving to Monmouth some years ago. He had been in the home in Iowa for two years.
