Born in Goldmannsdorf, Silesia, Germany; in 1890 Laura and an older sister were sent from Goldmannsdorf, Silesia to fetch back to Germany older sisters--who in turn had been sent to accompany to America a brother who had gotten into trouble in Silesia. All the girls decided to stay here in America; Laura married Martin Holznage, son of Johann John Holznagel, 29 May 1891 in Lincoln County, Washington and settled in the Waukon area of eastern Lincoln Co. Washington.
