Miss Beard taught in the OKC Schools for 35 years. She received her teacher's Certificate at age 17 from Texas State Teachers College in Texas. Later attended the Universities of California, Arkansas & Mexico City. She received a BS Degree from the University of Colorado & a BA Degree from OKC University. She is survived by one sister Madiline Ison.
