Fairview - Keith D. Brashear, 84, 17266 E. IL Hwy. 116 , died at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born March 10, 1925, in Fairview to Playford and Lola (Dikeman) Brashear. He married Norma (Snowden) Brashear on Aug. 26, 1943. She preceded him in death March 13, 2006.

Surviving are four children, Lenny (Rhonda) Brashear of Canton, Norma Lea (Jon) Owens of Renton, Wash., Debbie (Brian) Kennelly of Danville, Iowa, and Penny (Bill) Slack of Farmington. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and one sister.

Keith was owner and operator of Brashear Machinery and he also was a farmer. He was a 50-year member of Maquon Masonic Lodge No. 530, Mohammed Temple Shrine, Transportation Club, Broilers Club, Elhajj in Peoria and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1571. He also was a member of Fairview Methodist Church.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with Masonic rites at 4:45 p.m. Rev. Carolyn Steward will officiate. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
