BRUNSKILL, Rose
DEATH OF LONG TIME RESIDENT
MRS. ROSE BRUNSKILL PASSED AWAY WEDNESDAY MORNING
Was 55 years of Age and Spent Most of Her Life Here, Funeral Will be Held Friday

Mrs. Rose Brunskill, a resident of this community for about fifty years, passed away shortly after 3 o'clock Wednesday morning at her home in Eagle township, northeast of Hawarden. Mrs. Brunskill had been in gradually failing health for a number of years. She was critically ill last January for a time but rallied from this attack and had been able to be up and about much of the time since then until about three weeks ago since which time she had been bedfast.

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Hawarden at 2:30 Friday afternoon with Rev. Robet. H. Forrester in charge and interment will be made in Grace Hill cemetery.

Rosemond Loretta Stiles was born at Radcliffe, Iowa, Jan. 9, 1878, so was 55 years of age at the time of her death. With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Stiles, she came to Calliope as a small child in the early 80's about the time the town of Hawarden was established. Her father was a carpenter by trade and was attracted here by the possibilities for work in a growing town. She grew to young womanhood here, attending the Calliope schools. On April 7, 1897, she was united in marriage with John Brunskill and for twenty years they made their home on a farm in Eagle township. In the fall of 1917 Mr. Brunskill built a nice home in Hawarden into which the family moved in December of that year, but Mr. Brunskill only lived a few months thereafter, passing away after a brief illness on April 23, 1918. Mrs. Brunskill continued to make her home in town until after the marriage of her two daughters. Then for about three years she made her home with her youngest daughter, Mrs. Ruth Wegner, but about a year ago built a small home for herself on the farm occupied by her daughter and family where she has since resided. Mrs. Brunskill was long a member of the Methodist church here. She enjoyed the admiration and esteem of a wide circle of friends who are sorely grieved at her passing.

She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Vera Hambleton of Sioux City and Mrs. Ruth Wegner of Hawarden and eight grandchildren. She also leaves six sister, Mrs. Simon Scheie of Brocksburg, Neb.; Mrs. Geo. Satterlee of Billings. Mont.; Mrs. Siebert Easthouse of Hazel, S.D.; Mrs. J.C. Keating of Sioux Falls; Mrs. Geo Vosburg of Tulare, Calif., and Mrs. J. E. McCumber of Burke, S.D.
